The management of the Sabena supporting business units were forced to restructure fundamentally due to the Bankruptcy of Sabena 7 Nov 2001 followed by the 9/11 events and the Bankruptcy of Swissair on 7 Oct 2001.
All where managed under The Trustee since 7 NOV 2001.



The following business units where involved:

Sabena Catering (sold to LSG in 2002)
Sabena Handling & Cargo Handling & Sabena Freight Forwarding Agency (sold to FCC in 2002)
Belgian Fueling Services Company, BFSC( sold to Skytanking in 2003)
Sabena Hotels (all 3 sold , one still for sale today(Kinshasa)
HRS, Brussels Airport Fuel farm, partly owned by Sabena in Bankruptcy
Sabena technics Engines (Sold to Safran/Snecma in 2003)
Sabena technics (Sold to TAT-Group in 2005)
Sabena Flight Academy ( sold to CAE in 2008)

I have been involved to a certain extend to the restart of the ¡§new¡¨ airline DAT, which is now Brussels Airlines, in terms of the cargo development to Africa which is accountable for a substantial amount of Brussels Airlines revenues still today.





1) Sabena Cargo & Ramp Handling(2001-2002)*

Objectives & achievements during my involvement within Sabena Cargo Handling:
- Business development & sales
- CRM for new customers
All resources from an airline support unit where re-engineered to an independent service provider for airlines.
- Staff lay offs
- Stick to core business
- Optimizing 60 000 m2 warehousing , IT, GSE equipment, Licenses¡K.
- Managing and applying for handling licenses on other airports: Ostend, Liege,Vatry¡K
