Business Development Manager in a trading company (chemicals, plastics components). Outsourcing. New opportunities in the field of high tech and non conventional materials.

Consultant for Italy area of Gamma Holding – Gamma Technology branch – Industrial high tech fabrics – Merging and Acquisition support, expansion of the Italian market, business promotion, survey of “friend” companies.

Consultant for two Swiss Companies – high tech products – to evaluate the possible marketing in South Africa and neighbouring countries.

Sales and production of plastics components for fashion (coating) in two factories: Milan and Miercurea (Rom).
Task: production reengineering, improvement of Quality Dpt., new products and development, planning, reporting, costs, new ERP, budget.

Since 1994 to 2002

Dixon Resine Spa of Sulbiate (MI), Swiss Group Angst+Pfister (Zürich - CH).
Sold in January 2002 to Prodeflon Group (BG – Italy).
PTFE and fluorurated compounds producer (semifinished and finished parts).

Technical and Production Manager, Purchasing responsible, Technical offices (CAD-CAM, Planning, Costing). Profit and Loss, EBITA. Strategy. Cost accounting. Technical support for sales. Budget.
Responsible of relationship with Unions.
During 2001: Deputee Managing Director, in the absence for 3-4 days/week of the Managing Director.

The company (75 workers in 3 shifts), ISO 9001, was a producer of high-tech pieces in high performance polymers.
Main customers: Angst+Pfister, Siemens, ABB, Boeing, Toshiba.
Production Technologies: Tool machining (turning+milling+punching), Cold moulding, coating, Injection moulding, Punching.

The production lots were extremely different and the presence of small critical customers (Ferrari F1 team, Luna Rossa Italian defier for America’s Cup, French Navy for nuclear submarines launch systems) required an over-refined production scheduling system.
The internal reporting was extremely important and all the Company documents have been required to be written in English.

I have been required to make technical reports for Angst+Pfister Group, visiting the main international Fairs of chemicals, fluid transportation, mechanics and textile.

Since 1991 to 1993

HT Italia Spa of Osio Sopra (BG), VEBA Group (Cologne - D).
Director for activities related to the projected Italian production of laminated PVC, Polyethylene and modified polymers for Building and Ecology industry.

When this project aborted, I took the sale responsability for Italy of the same products, imported from Germany.
Yearly turnover from 200.000 € to 1.300.000 €.

Since 1981 to 1990

Flag Spa of Chignolo d’Isola (BG).
Technical and Production Manager. R&D Manager. Technical support to sales.
Production Technologies: PVC extrusion, PVC coating.
The two factories of the Company (Bottanuco – BG and Frosinone) were producing waterproofing membranes ad accessories for Building Industry.

In 1986 I was responsible for the start-up of the daugther factory of Kimberton,PA (USA), with 3 months residence.

Coordinator of an international Working Group of European Standardization of plastics waterproofing membranes, also for mechanical fastening.

Since 1975 to 1980

Tecnimont Spa of Milano (Montedison Group), engineering company.
After a training in several areas of this company (standards, materials; vessels and heath exchangers design) I have been sent to:
• Brindisi (1 year) as field assistant in an MDI construction plant (Petrochemical pole);
• Sluiskil – NL (more than 2 years) as mechanical responsible for the assembly of the world biggest ammonia plant storage.

Education

Graduation in Mechanical Engineering (Companies Management) in Milan Politechnical School (1975).
3 months stage at O.T.P. Puteaux (F) for pipelines, hydrocarbons storages, ducts management (1973).
Several training courses in Investments evaluation, benchmarking, China opportunities and problems.
