From 3-2000 I have been employed as the CEO and managing director of the Beijing Rep Office.
Tasks: business development, fund raising, HR, marketing. Consultancy to major clients (a.o. TSM Business School, Maastricht School of Management). I set up office and starting recruitment and training activities in China, incl. research of applicable Chinese laws, finding partners and establishing cooperation with China's largest jobsites and HR-agencies. Setting up relationships with government, embassies, universities etc.

Started as a freelance traffic manager and print-buyer. Later developed to a full service design- and prepress studio, with 6 employees (1991). Started experimenting with computer design from 1987; have always been at the edge of new technology. (bêta site for NeXT (1988), Corel Corporation (1988-2000), Optronics (1995) and Agfa (1998-99). In 1995 started Chinese typesetting on Windows (in cooperation with a Chinese interpreter/translator). 1998 started digital printing on Chromapress; specialised in databaseprinting, POD and one-to-one marketing.

Project and Interim management experience:
Selection of the projects I worked on when employed:
- At Arke Reizen, Enschede (1979) I created a new coding system and outlined maintenance software for the extensive image archiveit; This coding system is still in use at this time.
- At McCann-Erickson, Amsterdam (1982) I was project manager on the nationwide advertising and print campaign for the introduction of the Opel Corsa; 12 weeks in a row production of entire campaign: photography, retouche, design, approval, print production and delivery to over 50 newspapers.

- At MAS Marketing & Sales Promotion BV, Hilversum (1983). I managed a large number of large scale sales promotion project amongst which:
· the introduction in the Netherlands of the Renault 21
· the introduction in the Netherlands of the Renault Espace · the introduction for Pepsi Cola Light (including production of a cinema commercial-coproduction with United Artists for Gremlins)
· the nationwide release of the movie Gremlins. (100.000 free tickets)
· Guiness Book of Records Record day
· the introduction of Club Samson (lifestyle apparel and accessoires)
· introduction of new snacks for Smiths (now Lays), including a seminar on doing business with Japan etc.
The Renault 21 project included a personalised mailing to over 500.000 people, and was partly handled by means of a voice response system. (1984).
The Renault Espace project included the entire decoration of 170 showrooms in one night, including purchase (in China) of various give-aways.

Selection of the projects I worked on when self-employed
- 1986 Sales Promotion Action for Siemens, Den Haag (nationwide). I did the project management, including logistics both to retailers and end-users on the Nationwide Coffeemachine campaign (buy a fridge, and get a coffeemachine for f 12,50)
- 1987 Stertill, Kootstertille (manufacturer and distributor of garage equipment). Streamlined the ordering processes and created a new warehouse coding system (The company had taken over a competitor and the warehouse systems were not compatible). In 1989 I was assigned to test the newly developed software.
- 1991 For Wolters Noordhoff, Groningen (publisher of schoolbooks) I was project manager on the logistics of a new magazine, consisting of 5 to 18* local editions, that had to be published at once (For post-exam students of Secondary Technical schools and highschools). Local agencies were installed for selling advertisements, all linked by modem to the central project office. I designed the network system, the workflow, outlined the software and managed the project, including print production and distribution to over 2500 advertisers and over 3000 schools.
* Pilot project started with 5 agencies, after 6 months the full project started; This project ran for 3 years in a row.
- 1993 Lochem Druk-Lochem, 4 months interim management position for production of Robé Gids (Address guides for offshore industry). Designed and managed the workflow for the first production directly from the databases including graphics design and database reports.
- 1995 China Business Club: Restructuring of the organisation, 3 months interim management. During this period I organised a seminar on doing business with China.

- 1996-1997 Heutink, Rijssen (supplier of school accessoires); 7 months project management. Catalog-production from graphics design, layout, scanning (approx. 10.000 images), printing and distribution of a full colour catalog of over 2200 different pages, in 7 volumes of 3600 pages in total, print volume over 48,000,000 pages. I analysed the project and could surprise my client with a cost cut of over $125,000 per year and a three month shorter production period. I also supervised the printing and finishing in Spain.
- 1997-1998 De Schakel, Enschede – Real Estate Franchise ERP-software. Fast growing franchise of independent real estate agencies wanted to eliminate duplicate work and to substantially shorten the start up time of new agencies. I designed a intranet network including ERP and MIS software that generates purchase orders to the local photographers, and distributes data to newspaper, real estate magazine, Teletext, POD and website.
- 1998 AMK Adviesbureau, Beilen (Agency for implemetation and assessement of ISO 9001/2 with branch offices in Belgium and Germany). Consultancy on workflow and design, project management and implementation of ERP and MIS software, including video conferencing facilities with branch offices.
- 1999-2000 Brawo Brassworks, Zwolle Catalog printing software. A distributor of appliances, who is expanding his market to the entire EU. I designed and managed the production of the multilingual catalog creation software, which is used to prepare and print different versions of clients’ catalog on the fly (different products and different pricing for different countries; new catalogs are produced, printed and distributed within one week (in stead of 3 months).
- 2000- Euro optimum/Anupam, Goor/Bangalore 5 months interim/project managment position. Website and web based ERP/MIS software. Client is a producer and distributor of wedding dresses, shoes and accessoires, with production facilities in India and China, over 500 outlets in USA and more than 1200 outlets in Europe.
I designed and managed the production of website, which was produced in India. The project included the companies online production and logistics program, ordering and tracking for distributors and outlets, POD-sections for point-of-sale and promotion materials, and tracking and POD sections for end users.
Beside overall functionality design, interface design and project management of the project, my work included rollout management for Europe. Unfortunately, client filed for bankrupcy during the production of this project.

- 2001-TSM Twente School of Management, Enschede Consultancy on legal limitations for an international MBA-study; outlining the structure of the training project.

- 2002 4 months Interim marketing management for Zoranet Internet Services, in Zwolle; an ATM-level DSL-provider.

- 2002 2 months interim management at Designstudio for Garden and Landscape in Bergentheim. Tasks: restructuring the organisation, formalising processes, and triggering new sales activities.
