Philips Hearing Instruments / Beltone Netherlands Director of Technical Operations
(January 1999 – July 2000)

Philips Hearing Instruments (PHI) was one of the post-Centurion desinvestments of Philips, sales app. 100MNLG. In November 1999 PHI was sold to Beltone Electronics after an in-depth assessment of its value and a restructuring program.

Achievements:
* Managed the completion of the development of a new range of digital hearing instruments through a very difficult organizational period.
* Managed successfully the integration between a Dutch Philips organization and a local American company.


Philips Corporate Millennium Office Country Program Manager
(June-December 1998)

The Corporate Millennium Office was installed with the objective to manage the Millennium problem throughout Philips as a real business issue with much wider and severe impact in all business aspects and in all business processes. The group consisted of about ten employees, six of them covered the respective Impact Areas (Customer Base Management, Supply Base Management, IT Infrastructure and Applications, Facilities and Services and Corporate Core Processes). In addition to the impact areas a separate Country Management Program was initiated, in which the impact areas were considered from a Country Management perspective.

Achievements:
* Created the Country Millennium Program and Guideline.
* Implemented the Country Millennium Program through personal contacts with Country and Regional management.
* Designed, together with colleagues of the CMO, a one-day interactive Millennium Conference/Workshop.
* Organized successful Conferences in most West European countries, North America, Asian Pacific and other regions.
* Created a reporting system for the Millennium progress by countries.


Philips Industrial Electronics Services B.V. General Manager
(1994 - 1998)

During the turn-around of the PD Industrial Electronics in 1993 a separate entity IE Services was founded in which a number of staff departments and other central groups were collected (together with a number of small sales groups of foreign operating companies), the objective was to turn these former staff departments into customer oriented organizations rendering their services at market conditions. The activities included facility management, IT and network services, technological services, F&A, Purchasing and HRM.
Headcount started in 1993 over 300 and reduced to < 100 at the end of 1997. As a consequence of the integration of the BE and IE divisions the IE Services organization was finally dismantled on April 1, 1998.

Achievements:
* Managed the change process to transform about ten staff departments into successful customer oriented and financially sound service activities such that the customer base could be extended outside IE and outside Philips.
* Managed a successful outsourcing program of most of the groups where we could choose from several interested companies.
* Managed to compensate the decreasing IE occupancy of building TQ with tenants from outside IE and outside Philips which resulted in a significant and stable rental result despite the shrinking IE organization.
* Sold most of the real estate property of IES with a significant positive result.

B.U. Communication & Security Systems
Product Group Professional Recording (1987-1991) Product Group Manager
Supply Center Eindhoven (1991-1994) Supply Center Manager

The Product Group Professional Recording, later Supply Center Eindhoven, was one of the product groups of B.U. Communication & Security Systems and was responsible for developing, producing and marketing of products and systems for professional security applications and high capacity voice recording systems. Sales channels were through the NSO'S. Production value amounted to ~70 MNLG with a headcount of around 150.

Achievements:
Successful market introduction of world's most advanced voice logger, reaching significant market shares in especially the financial markets.
Managing development and industrialization of thin film magnetic heads, transferred activity to Consumer Electronics to form the basis for the Digital Compact Cassette (DCC).
Successful integration of the Product Groups Professional Recording en Electronic Security Systems with totally different cultures, reducing headcount and eliminating continuing losses of the Security Systems group.


PD Magnetics B.V. Group Manager Application & Testing
(1982 - 1987)

A joint venture of Philips en DuPont de Nemours, manufacturer of magnetic tape products for the consumer audio and video markets and for the professional digital market.

Achievements:
* Contributed to strategic product policy decisions by international contacts with hardware and tape industry (USA and Japan).
