Independent Consultant & Interim Manager (Based in The Netherlands) 01/2007- present
• Business development director for Dutch Telecommunications firm, who wants to enter the German market. The project consisted of market research, identifying potential partners, setting up and attending business meetings, setting up and negotiating channel contracts etc.
• Projectmanager for a mobile telecommunication system for a bus company in the Caribbean. The project consisted of identifying the opportunity , identifying the proper solution and suppliers, commercial and contractual negotiations, supporting implementation etc. (12 months)

General Manager (Public Transport Division) 10/2004 – 01/ 2007
Vialis Verkeer & Mobiliteit, Haarlem The Netherlands (A Volker Wessels Company)
• In this position I was responsible for several due diligence projects for the take over of companies, and advised the board of directors in these matters.
• Responsible for restructuring projects, shifting the focus from technology push to market driven.
• P&L responsible for the mobile telecom services division, which Vialis took over from one of its customers. This division provides mobile telecoms services to customers in the public transport sector.
• Initiated a market study and business plan for security solutions & services in the public transport and traffic sector. After approval I started with the set up of a new security division.


Independent Consultant & Interim manager (Based in Brussels, Belgium) 10/1998 – 06/ 2004

Assignments:
• As VP Sales and Marketing of an internet company, I restructured sales & marketing department, advised the board on strategic matters and participated in the project team to build an online internet trading place for the computer brokers market. (10 months)
• As VP Business Development of a US based system integration company for telecommunication solutions, I developed strategic plans for European expansion and actively positioned the company in the Region, to end-user customers and business partners. (12 months)
• The company based in Barcelona, Spain offers real-estate services to the ICT co-location industry. My role was VP business development. Strategic positioning and prospecting on an international level to large operators and co-location service companies. We were a member of the CHA, the Co-location and Hosting Association. Due to the collapse of the Telecommunications industry this activity was ceased. (12 months)
• As Business Development Director I successfully positioned a company offering dark fiber concepts to European and US Telco operators. Direct report to CEO. (6 months)
• As General Manager I established and successfully managed an engineering firm for the planning and implementation of Telecom infrastructures and the development of GIS application. The company grew from 8 to 60 employees in 1 year, with profitable revenue of US$ 5M. Direct report to CEO. (13 months)

• Regionally responsible for a project with Andersen Consulting to investigate the organisational structure in the EMEA and to determine if certain back-office functions could be centralised into one central service centre for the region.

• Supported the MNC Director with sales activities to the Lucent multi national accounts in the region.
• Managed implementation of a regional contract management structure.
