Avenger was active in the market of audio-visual installations. Avenger
produced a computer-based show control system. With this system all sorts
of equipment deployed in audio-visual installations can be controlled,
effectively automating the installation. Major applications are: Museums,
corporate events, product launch shows, Expo pavilions (Expo2000), theme
parks, themed retailing and theatres.
Avenger had a good product, but had wasted several years in getting the
product to market. As a result Avenger suffered from severe cash flow
problems, and a loss of credibility in the market.
A new business and marketing plan were created. A strategy for the
company was discussed with and accepted by the employees and
shareholders. Quality methods (no certification) were introduced in order to
structure the workflow. Quality was introduced specifically in managingcommercial contacts. As a result, the shareholders put new money
into the company. A new product was introduced on the market in 1999.
Despite all of the above Avenger was forced to file for bankruptcy in
November 2001.
