Pitney Bowes is the world\'s largest manufacturer of Mailing and Paper Handling Systems. The technology most commonly associated with the company is the Franking Machine. This is a Global company with a turnover in excess of $4 billion with its global headquarters in the USA. The European, African and Middle Eastern Headquarters is based in Harlow Town, Essex.
Achievements, -
 Project lead the negotiation of a 3 year agreement for the supply and total management of all Metal Raw materials for Pitney Bowes , Harlow .This entailed the reduction of the vendor base from 16 to 1 vendors, the elimination of more than 1000 orders per annum (Soft cost benefits approx. 100k per annum) and the phased implementation of new processes as well as the standardisation of the 225 different materials that made up the company requirement.
 Introduced a Project Lead Inventory Bar Code system, which will bring direct and indirect savings of £130k per annum to the organisation. Due to its success I have been tasked to review and possibly implement across all key vendors and commodity groups.
 Introduced a Generic Return to Vendor Process, numerous Kan Ban and Consignment stocking arrangements .
 Development of a new and efficient Engineering Change Process. Sole responsibility for the Engineering changes for all Packaging, Plastic and Metal parts for all product builds, one of which was £20 million per annum.
 Successfully transferred 2 product Builds from the USA to the UK for the Plastics Commodity.
 Outsourcing of Metal Fabrication work to strategic alliance vendors.
 Involved in both Plastics and Metal commodities for a new product launch due October 2001.
 Implementation of Vendor Managed Inventory Supply agreements and working relationships.

My Chief Accountabilities and Responsibilities at Pitney Bowes include, -

 Exceeding all Supply Chain performance requirements and increasing Gross Profitability.
 Adding value to the “supplier selection process” by conducting supplier audits and analysis of supplier\'s performance, compliance with appropriate specifications and all relevant standards to ensure both reliability and maximum mutual service efficiency.
 Streamlining and Re-engineering existing Supply Chain Processes and Procedures both internally and with 1st and 2nd Tier Vendors and Implementing the above recommendations with a view to driving down the Total Cost to the Business which included considerable European Travel.
 Ongoing evaluation of existing suppliers - supplier rating and development of product strategy to ensure that improvements are delivered on time, at the right price and in accordance to specifications.
 Managing the vendor base in all Commodity Groups namely Electronics, Electro Mechanical, Plastics (Raw materials & moulded parts), Metals(Raw materials & component parts) and Packaging.
 Reducing the vendor base with a view to developing Strategic Longer Term mutually beneficial relationships with the chosen Strategic Alliance Vendors.
 Project managing Engineering changes as well as New Product Development that pertain to all Plastics and Metal parts for all Product Builds by being the interface between Cross Functional Teams including Design, Test, Product Engineering, Materials, Process Engineering and the external vendors.
 Managing and communicating “corrective action plan” both internally and externally.
 Project management of the Transfer of Product Builds across all Pitney Bowes Global Manufacturing Sites.
 Outsourcing of numerous internal processes and internally manufactured components to external vendors.
 Commodity Management representative in the SAP software implementation.

 Implemented a New Logistics system to reduce the time and improve the flow of Tanker
deliveries to the plants. This involved 1st and 2nd tier vendors and involved in 3 successful product launches.

My Chief Accountabilities and Responsibilities included, -

 Procurement of +100 Food Grade Raw Materials with an annual multi million pound spend.
 Management of the related vendor base of approximately 50 vendors
 Introduction of Lean and World-Class business practice and processes, once again with a view to drive down costs.
 Involvement in Product Launches and development, continuous Value Analysis
programmes and Material Resource planning for all materials.
