2001 – 2003 Amsterdam

Executive Director.
(former Worldwide) is a human capital management firm, listed at NASDAQ, with presence in over 30 countries.
Direct report to CEO Europe in London. P/L responsible for the Recruitment and Contracting business in the Netherlands. Number of employees >200. Total net turnover € 40 million. Reorganized from regional to functional organization and implementation of OpStats and STAR system. Main achievements: developed and implemented a new (focus) strategy based on niche markets; kept in tact the managerial profit (%) increased productivity of (managing) consultants and retained the best people. Management team with HR, marketing, finance and 4 managing consultants.


1995 – 2001 Randstad Holding, Amsterdam


1998 – 2001 Managing Director Business Unit

Regional business unit of 350 people, young professionals, all with strong educational backgrounds (most of them university or bachelor degrees). Annual turnover € 170 million. Full P/L responsibility. The business unit is one of the most important business units in the Netherlands (home market), because it locates the governmental departments, big universities and a lot of (inter) national headquarters; the national Key Accounts.
We made the transition from managing growth to managing profit and product development. My responsibility, besides BU p/l was also national account manager KPN Telecom, TPG Post , Aegon and Heineken. Within Randstad Nederland I was chairman of the distribution project team (virtual and mobile branches) which was an advisory board of the executive board.
My management team consisted of 5 people (finance, HR, marketing and operations).

1995 – 1998 Manager Operations (District manager)
Responsible for region with 12 branches and 90 people. Turnover € 50 million. My main task was an operational mission to (re)energise people and realise the budgeted sales. Teambuilding and management by vision were my drivers and success. During my time I succeeded in introducing and implementing the one stop shopping concept, which was the leading initiative within the company.

1991 – 1995 Spring Communication., Amsterdam
Managing Director/Partner

As Managing Director I was responsible for the organization of 40 people,
creative, production, traffic as well as account people. One of the partners was
responsible for the creative department. My main focus was organization and accounts.
The product portfolio was based on pharmaceutical and durable products. The biggest
Client was Glaxo (GSK) with Zantac, Serevent and Imigran. For one client (my former
employer) we did the IPO communication strategy and implementation.

1987– 1991 OPG (Pharmaceutical Wholesaler), Utrecht

1989 - 1991 Marketing Manager
As marketing manager my main responsibility was to introduce the marketing concept within the organisation. It was a Dutch sales driven organisation, based on long lasting relationships with their customers (pharmacists) in the Netherlands. With a changing European (open) market coming we had to define a (marketing) strategy for the coming years. Because of my sales efforts and marketing degree I became responsible for the marketing discipline. Direct report to the Group Director Wholesale who was responsible for Europe.

1987 – 1989 Account Manager Hospitals
In 1987 OPG Wholesale divided the market into two segments: general and hospital pharmacists. Therefore they started the new business unit Hospitals. We started with 2 account managers and one Business Unit Manager. I was one of the account managers and responsible for the Northern half of the Netherlands. My main task was sales and we were very successful. In 1989 the Business Unit turnover was € 40 million and a staff of 12 people.

1986 – 1987 Beiersdorf NV., Amsterdam

Sales representative Nivea, Hansaplast
As a commercial trainee responsible for specific outlets: pharmacists. Direct report to the sales manager Medical. Within a year I increased the total sales in the pharmacists segment from € 4 million to almost € 4.5 million
